It's 1230am and I'm really tired, but I've decided to at least post something..
Ok, I'm going to mention another singer that I like - Aimee Mann. I guess most of u might not have heard of her. The first time I heard her sing was in 1999 when I was watching the Oscars and she was singing this award nominated song - Save me (from the movie, Magnolia).
At that time, I was attracted to the lyrics and the tune to the song was stuck in my mind. In fact, I'm not sure how to describe her music, maybe indie cum alternative rock?

I love songs that have a message behind it, irregardless of whether it's Jazz, Soul, R&B, English, Jap and dare I say Chinese (!! impossible but it could happen)...
So it's no surprise that I love Amy Winehouse. She's an English soul, jazz, and R&B singer with 2 albums under her belt (Frank 2003 & Back to Black 2006). From my point of view, she's hands down a real talented singer, no argue about it. Her voice reminds me of one of those 60s soul singer so it's a pity that her personal life is far from rosy. Sadly she's battling drug addiction and has dropped three dress sizes (eating disorder), which is real sad cos' she was really pretty in her first album. But I guess it's due to her "problems" which is why her songs are very soulful and how shall I put it, it really seems like she means what she sings...
Anyway I love songs from both her albums and I really hope that she gets better and not become another talented singer that dies of an overdose. There are too many of these cases so from one of your fans, pleaseeee get better and go to rehab...

Okay..I'm officially pissed. Although I've vouched not to write about my problems but this certain person is really pissing me off. I've been getting comments from people that she copies my traits (and these are also from people who knew her first)!! This is not the first time that someone is "copying" me, I did have a similar encounter while I was studying. Some people might feel it's an honour but to me it really stinks when people come up to me saying that she's exactly like me..It's irritating!!
Anyway, I shall not name this person but she's in my black book...
These past few days I've been listening to songs by Colbie Caillat and it really helps me get through the day...
If you guys are wondering Colbie who? She's a singer songwriter from LA. Her music's more acoustic based so for those who like John Mayer, you will love her songs. Anyway, here's a great pic of her -

Recently, I've been watching the anime - Azumanga Daiohwhich was aired in 2002 and is adapted from the comedy manga written and illustrated by Kiyohiko Azuma.
Azumanga Daioh chronicles everyday life in a Japanese high school, following the trials and triumphs of six girls: reserved Sakaki's obsession with cute animals, Chiyo's struggle to fit in with girls five years older, Osaka's skewed perspective on the world, Yomi 's aggravation at an annoying best friend, Tomo, whose energy is rivaled only by her lack of sense, and Kagura's efforts in sports and school.
The characters are cho kawaii (including the teachers) & the character that I like the best is Osaka.
Her name is actually Ayumu Kagusa and she's a transfer student from Osaka. Anyway, Tomo (another quirky character) quickly chose her the nickname "Osaka" contrary to Ayumu's behavior, which is different from what Tomo sees as the "typical" Osakan. She's a sweet but spacey girl, who has a pretty bad habit of falling asleep during class or becoming otherwise distracted by everything from her own random thoughts to air particles. She also has a peculiar knack for pondering the meaning of words at the most inopportune times, which makes me laugh all the time.
I've been so busy with work lately (sigh) that I didn't even have the time to watch my anime. Anyway the good news is that my manager is on leave (yeah!!) so I'll be catching up on all my anime..
Since I didn't have the time to watch any shows, I'll mention another song that I like from Yuna Ito. It's called Endless Story, it was her first single released from her album - Heat . This song was also featured in the jap movie - Nana.
